Why Moms Make the Best Potential Employees
The day a woman is given the title of mom is the day she is gifted with not only a baby, but a valuable set of skills.
These valuable skills allow moms to stand out in the workplace. You may not realize it, but that overachieving employee who always seems to be on top of things is most likely a mom.
Unfortunately, most employers shy away from hiring a mom based on the assumption that she would not be able to invest herself completely into the company.
This is a common misconception when it comes to working moms, that their focus is only able to shift one way.
That is why I have comprised a list of several ways that moms make the best potential employees.
THEY ARE MULTITASKERS
You will never find anyone who can multitask better than a mom. Help the kids with their homework, clean the house, construct a detailed budget plan and complete a progress report. Oh, and get it all done before 9? You got it! The kids will already be bathed and tucked in their beds too.
THEY KNOW HOW TO ACT UNDER PRESSURE
Have you ever dealt with a full list of groceries, needing to pick up dry cleaning and your toddler needs to go down for a nap in an hour before they turn into a flesh eating monster? Moms know better than to panic in situations like these and stay focused.
THEY HAVE PATIENCE
It's something they've practiced even before they gave birth! Moms know how to be patient. Whether its their kids asking for something, or the time they flooded the bathroom because they thought it would be fun to have a swimming pool inside. Kids know how to test your patience allowing moms to become pros at being patient. This is extremely helpful for customer service positions.
THEY ARE DILIGENT WHEN IT COMES TO BEING ON TIME
Moms are the queens, no, the kings at being on time. You can thank the countless doctors appointments, parent teacher meetings, rehearsals, games and even dinner time. Moms know how to be on time all the time.
THEY ARE ORGANIZED
I am talking planners, charts and even a filing system. Being a mom means you have to keep track of everything: birth certificates, school work, prescriptions, chores ect. Moms are so used to having to be organized (so they don't go crazy) that they've found new ways to be organized. You can also thank Pintrest for that.
THEY ARE DEVOTED
You will never find an employee more devoted than a mom, and that's just because they aren't just working for a paycheck. Moms are working to prove a point, set an example for their kids, be a role model and give their kids the life they deserve. Moms cant afford sick days, calling out or being tardy because they have a goal and that is to show their kids that they can achieve anything they set their mind to.
